I was driving from my office to the lab when my phone rang
me: Hello
GM: Hi hokidoki, This GM, may we have a chat ??
me (heart skip a beat): Hi GM, sure, what is it about ?(daarrrrn is he going to ask about my MBA and when i will leave the company)
GM: Oooh not much, i just want to get an update regarding the root-cause finding that you've been working on for our Taiwan customer
me (phew...): yeah, it's been great blah blah blah
That was close, my general manager doesn't normally call me for an update but i guess my root-cause finding is a surprised to him...i thought he's going to ask when i am going to leave for b-school
I can't stand it anymore....sooner or later my manager who wrote my rec will ask me about my MBA outcome, I haven't told him yet and thank God he's been travelling for a month...I just don't want to get laid off coz i still love my paycheck...
Preparation for Haas interview has been great. I kind of tired of interviewing but this is my number one choice so I better work hard on it. My interview prep normally consist of:
1. Go over potential questions and try to make mental note or just outline note how i will answer the question
2. Go over it with another person who knows you well and can give an honest feedback. In my case, my boyfriend is my evaluator, he knows me well and always gives honest answers.
3. For Haas in particular, I try to prepare for unconventional questions as well like
- what make you unique
- how would you label yourself
- what is your favorite book, this, that and stuffs like that
4. accepted.com interview feedback section is really helpful because it is based on the info provided by people who's done it for a specific school
5. Talk to current students or alumni for tips. According to my friend, who is a 2nd year at Haas, smile a lot, be enthusiastic and just be your charming self
Hopefully I will ace the interview
