I've just read an interesting article about PMBA vs conventional MBA. PMBA stands for the Personal MBA which requires no rigorous application process nor class attendance :) Many people who don't see the value of real MBA nor think the ROI is worth it are considering DIY.
With PMBA you learn by reading books and discuss them with the PMBA community. The way I see it, each program has its own pro and con, it really boils down to what you want to do with your career (bring it to another level or switch career), whether you value networking and easy access to corporate world, financial reason etc etc.
Though I am all for the conventional MBA, I can always learn a thing or two from the PMBA reading list as compiled by Josh Kaufman
